Classes in 17th Century Italian Rapier.
Taught by Erik Schmitt.

In our classes, students will learn the history and techniques of the 17th
Century Italian Rapier.  Through providing instruction and equipment, we
aim to make historical swordsmanship available and accessible to
interested students of all levels and backgrounds.

Our practice is based on techniques laid out in surviving period manuals
and we strive to be historically accurate in our techniques.  At the same
time our classes make some adaptations to permit safer free-sparring
and make classes accessible to the modern recreational student.  (For
example: less extreme stances which are less dangerous to joints).

Our goal is to practice Rapier technique as a martial art rather than as a
competitive sport or theatrical art.  We aim to serve both the casual
student looking for a fun and enjoyable activity and the serious historical
Martial Artist looking for a strong foundation in historical Rapier practice.
